In my last post Improve Your Time Management , I spoke about the need to account for or just make better use of your time. Several readers wrote in to give me some of there tips on being more time efficient. Here is a the list of suggestion time improvement methods:
- Find out where you are wasting your time
- Put together a time management plan
- Setting fixed time limits for tasks
- Prioritize work and don’t procrastinate
- Use time management tools
I have found all of these suggestions to be simple, yet effective in eliminating schedule fluff and plan to use each of them a bit more. However, the most effective way I have found recently to reduce wasted time is the use of an online alarm clock (time management tools). I previously spoke about the KuKu Klok and yesterday I received an email from the Tom Churm, creator of the Online Clock . <Click here for display snapshots> Here is a review of his fine product which was submitted using our new Free Site Review form:
OnlineClock.net is the internet alarm clock with the cool retro 70’s digital clock style. It reminds of the very first digital watch my dad had, with its glowing red LED numbers against an empty black background. Kind of scary in its starkness, but in a cool way. This site’s so useful because of its simplicity. Thank god the developers seem to be keeping the site simple, letting it become a classic on the internet. Special tip: scroll down to the bottom of the site in your browser to see extra navigation links at the bottom of the page. These include links to a stopwatch, a countdown timer, and an alarm clock using a 24 hour display system.
Online since early 2006, OnlineClock.net claims to be the first website entirely devoted to being the world’s most popular online alarm clock. If Google is any indication, the makers of OnlineClock might well be on their way to achieving this goal. Currently, OnineClock enjoys a place at the very top of the search results when you search for “alarm clock” and has a loyal user base of more than 28,000 unique visitors per day.
Sure, OnlineClock.net includes a couple of configuration options, such as the ability to choose your desired background color, and the ability to make the size of the digits larger or smaller. But what really impressed us is the sound of the alarm itself - it’s so annoying, it simply must be heard to be believed ! If I hear that sound first thing in the morning, I think I’ll be guaranteed to get out of bed, and maybe even throw a brick at my laptop to stop the thing.
So, if you’re looking for a retro alarm clock and leave your laptop or desktop computer turned on all night anyway, consider using OnlineClock.net. But don’t say we didn’t warn you about your electricity bill, and be careful - that alarm may drive you to madness.
