Why the iPhone?

I believe that about 90% of photography is about what the photographer sees. The choice of camera makes up for the rest. My iPhone just happens to be the camera that’s always with me.

My photographs take a quick candid look at everyday moments in life and the people that I encounter within them. I find beauty in the simpler aspects of these moments; the face of a stranger, the gate of a man, the shadows or reflections of a woman or even the simple smile on the face of a child.

I don’t set out to produce art, per se. For me, street photography is more of a personal therapy. I am most happy when capturing these slices of life.

Photography for me was not intentional — yet now, it seems essential.

100% of the images featured on Just What I See were created using Apple’s 2G, 2mp or 3Gs, 3mp camera system.

  1. Yeah, I too also have an Iphone 3G with me that I upload to my Facebook page. However since, I am a Photographer here in Edmonton, I normally bring my Nikon Camera with me as I need to get that quality image when the perfect time comes… I bring my smaller Nikon D90 camera, as I don’t want to break or loose my Nikon D3S whenever I walk with it on a day to day basis.

  2. Photoxels – You are correct that in evaluating an image, the camera used should be irrelevant. However, in writing about a particular photographer, I feel is it important for readers to learn about the equipment used. The growing legion of iPhone photographers have produced some very stunning results.
