Fresh, fun and contemporary pet photography! Serving Northern Virginia,Washington DC, and Maryland. Pet Photography by Sara Riddle
“Sara grew up on a small horse ranch in the foothills of Northern California surrounded by many pets that she absolutely adored. She found from an early age that her compassion, patience, gentle nature, and kind spirit naturally draws many animals to her.
In elementary and grade school, Sara wanted to be a veterinarian, a graphic designer, a dolphin trainer, and an architect. Her main passion in life has always been centered around art and animals. In high school, she enrolled in all of Mr. Brown’s photography classes and was hooked.
Sara went on to graduate from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography where she was honored as a recipient of the Craig Kojima Scholarship of Photography/ Photojournalism. She has worked for the Honolulu Academy of Fine Arts, the Mission Houses Museum, and has taught fine art and photography classes to adults and children of all ages. As great as her art career was, she knew something vital was missing from the big picture.
Upon departing their island paradise, Sara and her husband Matt moved to the “right” coast where they were finally able to fulfill their dream of adopting two loving and very sweet miniature schnauzers, Hanalei and Makena.
Sara began following her pups around the house day and night with her camera and took thousands upon thousands of photographs of her love bugs. She found so much joy in photographing them as well as several of her friends’ pets and capturing their wonderfully distinct personalities, that she believes with all of her heart and soul that she finally found her true calling in life as a pet photographer.
Sara is an island girl at heart and loves cooking, gardening, Maui, Oahu, farmers markets, scuba diving, surfing, music, smoothies, crab cakes, swimming, soaking up the sun and skiing (of both the water and snow varieties).”
