“B&W Photography (mostly) served fresh daily. It’s not a 365 project, it’s just simply my view on the world through a prime lens.

My pblog consist of portraits, street, landscapes and everything else in between. I don’t have a particular “genre” other than I like photos mostly in B&W. I love taking photos and the adventure and places that go with it. I also enjoy the technical aspect of photography as well as the artistry behind the scenes.

I started out in photography using my dads AE-1. Got away from photography for it when joined the military in 2001. I then bought my first Canon in 2004, a PowerShot S50 and I thought it was the greatest thing in the world. I still own that camera and still take pictures with it. I have since bought and sold several DSLRs and now currently use a Canon 60D + 50mm 1.4.

I started my blog as means for an outlet. I have thousands of photos in my computer HDD and had no way of sharing them with anyone. So one day I just decided to start a website, little did I know that amount of work it would take to go through my photos AND start a website.

So after going through several platforms (WordPress, PixelPost, WordPress again, then finally a custom coded flash website). I just recently launched a new template in a completely different style and platform which deleted all the comments from my last website. However the design is much more user friendly and flexible for future expansions.

I’m just trying to get more exposure for my work and I don’t charge for my photos, I’m just simply passionate about photography.”…Nikho Rosales

Sam D’Amico Photography

“Born in New Jersey in 1961, Sam D’Amico recalls always being interested in photography. Some of his earliest memories are of his family gathering to view home movies, slide shows or albums filled with photographs held in place by photo corners. He can recall his family being connected through the memories and emotions that the images evoked.

When he was a young teen, after expressing an interest in photography, his parents gave him a 35mm SLR. “I wanted to photograph the people, places and things that I saw but I lacked the patience to teach myself the technical skills needed to work the camera. Sometimes my pictures would come out the way I imagined and sometimes they wouldn’t. I found photography difficult and frustrating and sold the equipment a few years later…”

From 1992-1997 he photographed over 500 assignments for the New York Times as a free-lance Photojournalist.

My work is varied and is available for viewing and rights manged licensing/print sales via my website which also contains my blog.

I teach photography at my own series of classes offered in Washington DC and online. I also teach at an accredited photography school located in Bethesda MD.

I post a picture of the week and free photography tips on a regular basis.”

Fresh, fun and contemporary pet photography! Serving Northern Virginia,Washington DC, and Maryland. Pet Photography by Sara Riddle

“Sara grew up on a small horse ranch in the foothills of Northern California surrounded by many pets that she absolutely adored. She found from an early age that her compassion, patience, gentle nature, and kind spirit naturally draws many animals to her.

In elementary and grade school, Sara wanted to be a veterinarian, a graphic designer, a dolphin trainer, and an architect. Her main passion in life has always been centered around art and animals. In high school, she enrolled in all of Mr. Brown’s photography classes and was hooked.

Sara went on to graduate from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography where she was honored as a recipient of the Craig Kojima Scholarship of Photography/ Photojournalism. She has worked for the Honolulu Academy of Fine Arts, the Mission Houses Museum, and has taught fine art and photography classes to adults and children of all ages. As great as her art career was, she knew something vital was missing from the big picture.

Upon departing their island paradise, Sara and her husband Matt moved to the “right” coast where they were finally able to fulfill their dream of adopting two loving and very sweet miniature schnauzers, Hanalei and Makena.

Sara began following her pups around the house day and night with her camera and took thousands upon thousands of photographs of her love bugs. She found so much joy in photographing them as well as several of her friends’ pets and capturing their wonderfully distinct personalities, that she believes with all of her heart and soul that she finally found her true calling in life as a pet photographer.

Sara is an island girl at heart and loves cooking, gardening, Maui, Oahu, farmers markets, scuba diving, surfing, music, smoothies, crab cakes, swimming, soaking up the sun and skiing (of both the water and snow varieties).”
