Christian Gomez Photographer | Simple Perfection

christian gomez photography Christian Gomez Photographer | Simple Perfection picturesQuite amazing how quickly a career in photography can develop! As I admire the work of fashion photographer Christian Gomez, I am struck by his style of simplistic perfection…models are typically photographed against a solid background, beautifully lit, and hand placement is carefully chosen. Focusing on the small details can make a big impact in your fashion photography.

“IN 2003, CHRISTIAN STARTED PHOTOGRAPHY, WORKING FOR MODEL AGENCIES IN VANCOUVER. BY MID-YEAR, HE GOT HIS FIRST PUBLICATION. SHORTLY AFTER, HE HAD SHOT OVER 20 EDITORIALS FOR MAGAZINES AND HAD HIS FIRST COVER.

IN EARLY 2004, HE JOINED SUMMUM MAGAZINE AS PHOTO EDITOR & ART DIRECTOR, BUT LEFT AFTER 4 ISSUES TO PURSUE PERSONAL GOALS. THAT’S WHEN HE WAS PUBLISHED IN GQ, LOADED & ZINK. AT THE END OF 2004, HE JOINED THE TEAM AT CHARRON & CIE TO WORK ON A NEW MAGAZINE THAT BECAME ‘LA SEMAINE’ CURRENTLY No1 IN QUEBEC.

IN 2005 HE WAS NOMINATED BEST INTERNATIONAL FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR (2004). IN APRIL OF THAT YEAR, HE SHOT THE MONTREAL ALOUETTES CHEERLEADING CALENDAR.

FOR 2006, CHRISTIAN HAS BIG PLANS: HE SIGNED ON TO WORK AS PHOTO DIRECTOR ON A NEW CAR PUBLICATION AND IS ALSO WORKING ON SEVERAL OTHER PROJECTS THAT YOU SHOULD KEEP YOUR EYE ON…”

Walkerview, Pleasantly Tilted – April 06, 2008

Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to (2) new photographers added our site and their respective photoblogs.

  • Walkerview -”As many photographers profess, I too have been interested in photography from a very early age. However, I was encouraged to pursue an education that would pay the bills and to treat photography as a hobby. After 11 years in engineering school and a number of years working, I have refocused on my interest in photography.”
  • Pleasantly Tilted -This blog is actually to work of two photographers..Simon Kirby & Christine Grabig..Simon states..”My photography approach tends to be more of the technical nature. I aspire to one day gain the confidence to actually approach moving objects (people), which tend to not just …be there… like landscapes do. icon smile Walkerview, Pleasantly Tilted April 06, 2008 pictures ”…Christine states “I never realized how much I loved photography until I joined the yearbook staff in high school. I found it quite therapeutic locking myself in the tiny school darkroom and engaging myself in the developing of class photos, with only the radio to keep me company.”
