i currently use a nikon d60, which i got in may 2008, and a canon powershot a620, which i got in september 2006. before this is used a nikon coolpix 4600, which served me well until its untimely demise during a game of spoons. i also use photoshop and a few other applications to process my images.
i designed and built this site myself – the current design, version 4, went live in august 2009. if you don’t really like it, you can try our version 3, version 2 or version 1.”
“I don’t just love photography I am obsessed by it. Even on the rare occasions I don’t have a camera in my hands I am still visualizing the shot in my head. My style is ever changing and my techniques continually improve. My real passion is people, what they do when they are not being watch, what the do to command and how they become themselves in front of the lens. It’s at that point the magic starts. To me lighting and originality is everything. Some will hate my work, others will love it instantly, but I will only know if you make comments on my blog and share your thoughts and inspire me to greater things.
I still haven’t really found my niche yet as you will notice by the eclectic portfolio. It will come in time I am sure. The trouble is, whatever I photograph I get the same high levels of excitement about it, its just in my nature. If you see something here that you like but not quite what you are after, talk to me, I can adapt and I am very open minded.
I am currently working in Oxford UK as a graphic designer/art director/web designer and have been for a very long time. I enjoy a challenge, work methodically and fully understand the importance of deadlines. I have used Photoshop since the very early versions and I’m fully conversant in the various image types required for press, display and web media.”
“DICKSDAILY was born on 1st September 2001. The idea was to take a picture everyday – to make sure my camera went wherever I did – and here we are nearly six years later still going strong…. and more importantly, still going everywhere with a camera!
In the early days Dicksdaily was shot exclusively in digital (you can imagine how great my cameras were six years ago!) but as time has gone on, so my cameras have gotten older and clunkyer. I studied Fine Art at the University of Edinburgh, and followed this up with a 2yr commercial photography degree at the Arts Institute, Bournemouth.
I have been based in London since 2006. I have worked as first assistant to Visa D’Or winner Zed Nelson for 2 yrs.
I am represented for syndication by Picturetank in Paris, and for commercial assignments worldwide by the Lisa Pritchard Agency . I also work as a visiting Lecturer for photography courses at The Arts Institute in Bournemouth, and the University of Bedfordshire in Luton.
