Mike Figgis on Life Captured

Sarah Isaacs from Brando Digital wrote in to alert our community about an interesting photography competition coordinated by legendary film director Mike Figgis….

Mike Figgis on Life Captured from Lifecaptured on Vimeo.

Hi there,

I look after the Sony Ericsson account at an online PR agency called Brando. You may or may not be aware that over the last 3 months we have been running a film / photographic competition on behalf of Sony Ericsson. To celebrate the launch of the Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber-shot(tm) SE teamed up with Oscar nominated film director Mike Figgis to create ‘Life Captured’ – a pioneering new short film made entirely out of mobile phone photos taken by everyday people.

Mike and Sony Ericsson then invited anyone who wants to showcase their life to submit a storyboard consisting of five mobile phone snapshots.National winners from participating countries around the world were then briefed by Mike Figgis to shoot their part of the new ‘Life Captured’film with a new Sony Ericsson C902 Cyber-Shot(tm).

The competition is now in its final stage and Mike is now working with the images from around CEMEA (Central Europe, Middle East & Africa) to produce his final film to be premiered on 2 October 2008 at the 16th Raindance Film Festival in London.

Due to the high regard the photography community has for your blog on this subject matter we would like to offer you exclusive access to a video of Mike talking about this final stage as well as a clip from the final film prior to its premiere (to be supplied at a later date) for you to share with your community.
