Are you just a little frustrated by online marketing methods that promise the moon but deliver just the dirt? Have you had it with the flood of eBooks and ‘gurus’ trying to sell you on what worked last year? Here at ILovePhotoblogs.com, we have tried several of free Ad Word programs with limited success, but have recently switched to the Adword Analyser 3.0.

Although this is not a free program, at a cost of just $25.00, this program has proven to be well worth the money. If you view time wasted as money lost, you will see why I have made the switch to Adword Analyser 3.0.

Increase Traffic By 100% in 24 hours

Generating targeted traffic is the goal of most (if not all) website/blog owners, whether you’re into photography blogs or not. As I have tried to increase traffic on this site, I have used a number of different strategies, from watching content discussed, actively engage in discussions, to working on the overall design of the site. However, no single item has more impact on building traffic than providing content your viewers want to see.

The release of Photoblog Randomizer 1.o yesterday afternoon has more than doubled our normal traffic overnight! Photoblog Randomizer 1.o is a new way I have created to display photography blogs on this site. Instead of having visitors leave the site or create a new window, each photography blog can now be pulled up on the same page without leaving. Basically, you are viewing a website within a webpage. In addition, all the functions of the displayed website are operational, i.e., surfing through their site, leaving comments, etc. This was a simple solution in retaining viewers on this site to view our other interesting content.

As always, content is king. Thank you for the feedback emails on our newest feature. While I am actively working to improve the Photoblog Randomizer, please give it a try and let me you about your experiences.

Quickly Improve Your Google PageRank

What is Google PageRank?

Improving your Google PageRank is a sure fire way to lend credibility to your web page rankings. Google PageRank is an exclusive technology which evaluates the popularity of your website pages by a vote between 0 and 10.

How to improve your Google PageRank?

There are several ways webmasters and website publishers have learned to improve their Google PageRank. I have justed started my program for PageRank improvement at ILovePhotoblogs.com and will share some of the techniques I have implemented.

Content is King!

Many people focus too much time trying to figure out how to “work the system”, however, nothing can replacement the value of original quality content. Spend the majority of your time on creating interesting posts. Ask yourself the following questions:

If I were a visitor to this site, did I learn anything new or was the content simply regurgitated and reposted?

Did I find enough value in this site to return?

Title Posts Properly

Proper keyword usage is important, we can all agree on that, but using relevant keywords in the title of your post is THE MOST important places to focus your energies. Often we find ourselves casually crafting our posts, scan for the obvious grammatical errors and proceed to publish. Big mistake! It is vitally important to have targeted keywords relevant to your post in the title and also, to repeat these keywords in the first paragraph of your posting.

I make it a practice to review the ranking of each post for traffic and ranking. It is never too late to revise your post. If you find some of your articles are suffering from poor traffic/ranking, revise and make a note to review at a later date to see if your changes have made an impact.

Use Valid Code

Be sure that your code is valid. Since many bloggers use ready-made blogging platforms and pre-formatted templates, this should not be an issue…UNLESS..you make changes to the code to incorporate added features such as affiliate ads, layout changes, etc. I have messed up more than a few sites, wildly pasting code over top of important tags. The HTML/XHTML for the site should be valid and can be easily checked at a number of sites, such as HTML Validation Resource , and CSS Validation Resource .

Submit Your Original Content to EzineArticles.com

Ezinearticles.com is a site where expert authors & writers are able to post their original content to be featured within the site. Their massive searchable database allows publishers looking for fresh content to find articles they can use within their newsletters. My experience has been nothing but positive in using Ezinearticles; both for a bump in my Google PageRank and the additional traffic is also much appreciated.

How to quickly improve your Alexa rank

Improving my Alexa rank for ILovePhotoblogs.com has become a primary point of interest. What is Alexa? Alexa.com is a subsidiary of Amazon.com and is a website which provides information on traffic levels for websites. The Alexa rank is measured according to the amount of users who’ve visited a website with the Alexa toolbar installed. Having said that, let’s recap my initial goals with this project.

How to quickly improve your Alexa ranking? I have done several searches and one of the best I have found on this topic is 20 Quick Ways to Increase Your Alexa Rank. Here are just a few tips from the article I will be incorporating this week.

  • Install the Alexa toolbar or Firefox’s SearchStatus extension
  • Write or Blog about Alexa. Webmaster and bloggers love to hear about ways to increase their Alexa rank. (One of the purposes of this posting besides my need to keep viewers updated on my progress.
  • Optimize your popular posts. Got a popular post that consistently receives traffic from the search engines? Include a widget/graph at the bottom of the post, link to your Alexa post or use Alexa redirection on your internal URLs. (Look at bottom of this post)
  • Create an Alexa category on your blog and use it to include any articles or news about Alexa. This acts as an easily accessible resource for webmasters or casual search visitors while helping you rank in the search engines.(Just did it)
  • Put up an Alexa rank widget on your website. I did this a few days ago and receive a fair amount of clicks every day. According to some, each click counts as a visit even if the toolbar is not used by the visitor.

Perhaps it is ego, but I want a better Alexa ranking. A few weeks ago when I started my ranking was around 4.5 million. Not much to write home about, that’s for sure. As I write this post, my Alexa rank is 1,029,023. Statistically a great improvement, but nowhere near the rank I wish to achieve. I know that one way to increase traffic is through better organic rankings with advanced link building tactics. So what is my Alexa rank goal? Well, my short term goal is to be under 100k by May 31. Not sure if this is realistic, but you need to have goals, so this is mine.
I will keep you posted as to any progress I have experienced using these techniques.

**updated May 09, 2008 – Alexa Rank is 371,595**
