World Traveler Photographer – Chris Nixon

365414233 eckms m World Traveler Photographer Chris Nixon picturesOn first glance at the photography blog by Chris Nixon, one thing stands out…he is passionate about photography. His use of mixed media and minimalistic layout design, makes browsing through his site, both interesting and straightforward. The content is varied as not to confuse his site as just another online photo album. From reading about his background, it appears I am featuring yet another great San Francisco based photographer. Here an excerpt from bio:

Hi. I’m Chris Nixon. I’m the alter ego of another person who isn’t online. We’re pretty much exactly the same. We look alike, we have the same accent. He’s more a “doing” person, while I just tend to talk about it.

I was born in Brunei in Far East Asia more than 30 years ago. Typing that makes me feel old, but I’m really not. My dad worked for Decca, and my Mum did the rest. She’s Scottish, and my dad is English, though he doesn’t really like to admit it. We had a house in Hexham in Northumberland, England for a while…

Take a few moments to check out more great photography by Chris Nixon!

Justin Korn Photography – San Francisco

justin korn photography Justin Korn Photography San Francisco picturesOur newest photography blog, Justin Korn Photography, hails from San Francisco, California. Like many of the photographers featured on this site, Justin wears many hats, including web developer and teacher .

Justin’s portfolio showcases his great eye for composition, texture, and light, through a mix of black and white, and color imagery.

Justin Korn short bio

“So, you want to know Justin Korn?  Here is a quick run down: I am a 30 year old male living in San Francisco, California. I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but grew up in sunny San Diego, California.  During the day I develop and maintain the website for AirTreks. While I’m not there, I am usually thinking about photography – where to shoot next, how to improve my photographic creations, what equipment I need to buy, etc.  I also enjoy planning where to travel to next, playing soccer every chance I get, and fiddling around with projects on the “interwebs.”

…I have a dream to do it all day every day and somehow make a living at it. I have begun to put this dream together by starting BubbleWrap Photography with a co-worker/friend of mine. You can read about how I got into photography on my Flickr profile.  Besides what is on JustinKorn.com, you can find the majority of my photo collection on my Flickr photostream.”

Kite Aerial Photography – Scott Haefner

kite aerial photography Kite Aerial Photography Scott Haefner picturesAerial photography is technically defined as the process of taking pictures from an elevated position. We normally assume that an aerial photographer will be using some type of aircraft to assist in recording these images. But a kite?

Scott Haefner is a professional photographer and web designer based in the San Francisco Bay area. He primarily shoots urban and scenic landscapes, as well as kite-lofted aerial photos.

At an International Kite Aerial Photography Conference in November 2002, Scott was recognized as the “Most Promising New KAPer.” In addition, Scott’s work has been published in numerous magazines, newspapers, and books, including the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, BBC News, Photo Techniques, and Photo District News, as well as specials on the Discovery and History Channels.
