“All City is all about photography – specifically San Francisco urban photography – with an occasional photo from other parts of the earth (and someday beyond!).  But what truly binds us together is San Francisco proper and its many personalities, from tourist kitsch to ocean beaches, soaring skylines to urban decay.

We are four photographers: Stuart Dixon, Brad Evans, Travis Jensen & Bob Horowitz. We are a diverse group that brings together interesting styles to provide a kaleidoscopic view of the city.

We update often, generally 3-4 times a day, sometimes more. We also feature friends and acquaintances’ photography whenever we can. San Francisco is such an awesome place to be a photographer right now!”

Citysnaps – San Francisco photo blog

photo of window washer Citysnaps San Francisco photo blog pictures

Citysnaps is my photo blog. It’s about street photography; a very loose and informal documentary style about people in urban environments; capturing the energy and rhythm of the street.

I’m out shooting a lot. Usually solo, but many times shooting with friends as well.

I’ve met a lot of interesting people over the six or so years I’ve been snapping street pix. All are friendly and have a story to tell. Occasionally, I’ll focus on an individual and share some details of their activities and life. And from time to time share stories of some of my encounters on the street.

Most of my street pix are taken in San Francisco, a great city to shoot in. Outside of NYC, there’s no better place for street pix.

“I have always seen myself as independent. I graduated college, and began my own business with a passion to grow not only as an individual, but in the way I see the world. During college, I began to seek out a career as a photographer but little did I know that God had a big surprise waiting for me.”
Stunning Engagement Photos

“I met the love of my life my junior year of college and began to love the way it felt to share my life with someone. I have someone by my side that pushes me to grow, truly wants the best for me and now I see myself as not only independent, but even stronger with my best friend beside me. If there is one thing that has truly helped my business more than anything, it is the understanding of love.”

Powerful Portrait Images

“We definitely do not have a perfect relationship, but are always sharpening each other with our understanding of what love is. I find it inspiring when two people are truly in love. They show it by the way they look at each other, touch each other, and talk about each other. I have witnessed these details in every couple I have worked with, and each time I find something different and almost magical about how two people can connect. I don’t necessarily only experience this kind of love through my couples, but I see love through my family and friends.”

“It is a powerful thing we don’t always understand but I yearn to see more of it everyday. Love is what defines my life, my family, my friends and my job. I love what I do because it gives me the chance to love someone else.”

Bridge View, Baker Beach
This being a San Francisco photo blog I am require by law to start with a photo of the Golden Gate Bridge, this time as seen from Baker Beach. For those interested, part of Baker Beach, under the cliffs and nearest the bridge, is clothing optional.

The End of FogBay
I will end FogBay the way I began it, with a photo of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is remarkable to think that after its construction in 1937, many locals thought the bridge to be an eyesore. It was San Francisco photographer Ansel Adams who helped change public opinion when he announced that he felt the bridge actually enhanced the Golden Gate landscape. The story of a local photographer helping others to see the beauty of the San Francisco Bay seems a fitting way with which to conclude FogBay.

Here are just a few of the many Twitter submitted photo blogs I’ve recently received…Mark Birks Photography, a freelance photographer and designer from Ohio; Light and Dark Photoblog by Kevin Crafts, a web designer/photographer in Boulder, Colorado; Adam White’s Photography blog, professional photographer based in Jacksonville, FL; BagNewsNotes, a progressive blog dedicated to visual politics, the analysis of news images and the support of “concerned” photojournalism; and Manuel Guerzoni Photography, a San Francisco based photographer.
