Wouldn’t it be great to have an editor by your side to look over your next blog post before you hit Publish, to make sure it’s really ready?

A System to Measure the Success of Your Next Post

The Copywriting Scorecard for Bloggers‘ will do just that for you – it’s a system that will allow you to objectively measure the quality of your next blog post – from both the reader’s and Google’s perspective.

‘The Copywriting Scorecard for Bloggers’ is a downloadable eBook providing a list of recommendations to follow, as well as pitfalls to avoid, as you write that next blog post. It’s a checklist of things that are common in most great copywriting and mistakes that are commonly found in ineffective copy.

All up, there are 63 things to consider, all comprehensively explained and divided into these four easy to read sections:

  1. Writing — How to write engaging compelling posts.
  2. Scannability — How to ensure your posts are easy to scan read.
  3. Search engine optimization (SEO) — How to write posts that Google will like.
  4. Grammar — How to avoid errors that undermine your credibility.

Then, once you’ve read the recommendations, simply print out a scorecard, check how many recommendations you’ve incorporated into your post, then add up your score for a total out of 100. The higher your score, the more effective your post is likely to be.

What Does Copywriting have to with Blogging?

Bloggers come to ProBlogger with many questions. Some of the more common ones include:

  • How do I get more readers to my blog?
  • How do I become more authoritative in my niche?
  • How do I make my blog profitable?

While all of these questions are important – a cornerstone of blogging that helps step you closer to achieving results in all of these areas is your blog’s content.

Without useful, easy to read, engaging and professionally written content – you’ll be no closer to achieving your blogs goals – whether they be to build a personal brand, to sell your products, to make money through advertising, or to build authority and trust with readers.

The content in your blog posts is a cornerstone of your blog, and it’s important to invest time and energy into honing it to reach its potential.

Developed by blogger Darren Rowse (ProBlogger) and specialist SEO copywriter Glenn Murray (Divine Write) – The Copywriting Scorecard for Bloggers will help you take your blogging to new heights.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1

If you are currently in the market for a camera that takes great photos and high quality video, consider checking out the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1.

The GF-1 is the third model released in the Panasonic Micro Four Thirds “G” System. Micro Four Thirds is an extension of the Four Thirds standard that Olympus, Leica and Panasonic have used for their recent DSLRs.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 features beautiful styling, great functionality and handling abilities, and an overall excellent performer for stills and video. Check out what others are saying about the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1…

“Overall thought – and I guess you probably already know this – I really loved the GF1, and will find it very hard to return it when this review is finished, meaning that I may have to wipe the dust and cobwebs off my wallet and actually hand over my own hard earned cash for one. The Olympus E-P1 now has some very, very strong competition in the form of possibly the most engaging and enjoyable camera on the market today. A compromise, for sure, but a surprisingly happy one…DPReview

The 7 Links Challenge

Motivated by a recent post, 7 Links for Bloggers, by Darren Rowse at Problogger, I’ve decided to participate in this interesting post challenge as well. The idea behind the challenge is to list 7 interesting facts about yourself and your site in an easy to read format. So, I hope you enjoy and encourage you to post your “7 Links” below or provide a link back to us with your own posting.

  1. Your first post – the first post I ever wrote here at ILovePhotoblogs was on March 8, 2008, titled Working with Logo Designs. Looking back, it’s interesting I didn’t start off with a post that included photos or photobloggers.
  2. A post you enjoyed writing the most10 Photos You Can Stop Shooting Already. Unlike most of the posts where individual photographers are featured, I thought I’d mix things up a bit. This post was a light-hearted jab at photographers shooting your normal fare of subject matter. Some viewers understood my attempt at humor, others..not so much. In any case, it was nice to see people talking photography styles and defending what they enjoy documenting.
  3. A post which had a great discussion – This would have to be the previously mentioned “10 Photos” post which most recently got people talking over at AusPhotography.
  4. A post on someone else’s blog that you wish you’d written – I actually have two. 30 Amazing Photoblogs on 10000words.net. Up to the point of viewing this post, I really struggled how best to display photographers and their photos. This post opened my eyes to design and layout. Next, Ultimate List of Blog Heading Templates & Titles for Blogging at JustCreativeDesign. I regularly visit this posting for title ideas. I have to admit, title creation is my biggest struggle when writing a post.
  5. A post with a title that you are proud of – I really stink when it comes to making great “link bait” / SEO-charged titles, hence, most of mine are pretty “white-bread” ish. If I had to pick a title that was a creative departure from my norm, it would be Pimp Your Twitter Background. Besides the catchy title, this was one of my favorite how-to posts.
  6. A post that you wish more people had readPhotoblog Randomizer. This was my first attempt at creating a spin-off application. The idea was to randomly display a webpage within a webpage from a predefined list of user submitted sites. Maybe it was too confusing or just not that interesting.
  7. Your most visited post ever20 Awesome Photography Blogs and the related category posts. This was my first post series which turned into 28 total postings and counting.

Hope you found this interesting and enjoyable and look forward to seeing your lists, as well.

Today, we feature 4 wonderful photography blogs from the submissions received over the weekend. Our photography selections include square picture, 10mmgalore, 18mm, and parallax thinking.

Since Sunday is one of our slower days of the week, I typically take a break from my normal blogging schedule to kick back and enjoy a couple toasted bagels and read non-photography related sites.
