I haven’t looked for a photography job in quite some time. However, for some reason I started looking today…just out of curiosity, or course. Surprisingly, I spotted quite a few jobs that didn’t involve malls, babies, senior portraits, or weddings. The photography jobs listed below are real opportunities with a submission deadline. Photographer – TS / SCI / FSP – VA, Chantilly
- General Dynamics
- Create finished photographic products, such as photo enhancements and/or enlargements, maps, charts, viewgraphs, slides, and photo CDs.. Provide advice and guidance to less experienced photographers. Maintain and Repair Photographic Equipment
- Degree in photography or equivalent work experience in areas such as portraiture, still life, location photojournalism, commercial photo lab, and/or digital processing
- Minimum of 3 years experience and demonstrated proficiency in photography and/or photo processing
- Must have active Top Secret/SCI with Lifestyle Polygraph clearance
Fashion Photographer – Miami
- Model looking for a free lance fashion photographer. No experience necessary but needs to see samples of work or a portfolio. Will be working with a stylist and will have to come in for a brief interview. Compensation will be copies of the photos for your portfolio. Must own a camera
Photographer/Editor – San Francisco

- have a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary lighting techniques and fully understand the use of professional audio equipment commonly used in Programming
- have prior use of HD gear is essential
- Final Cut editing proficiency is a plus
- be able to troubleshoot minor equipment problems in the field

Web Photographer – Philadelphia

- Free People is bringing its web photography in-house, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, talented digital photographer to join our team
- The full time position will be based at our home offices at the Philadelphia Naval Yard, and will have regular interaction with the larger Direct and Home Office team
- Qualifying candidates will express an eagerness to excel in the position, as well as an eagerness to be involved in non-traditional photography needs as they should arise for the larger Free People brand
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 3+ years of digital studio photography experience in a commercial studio preferred
- A strong portfolio of print and online fashion photography should be provided in interviews to demonstrate experience in applied techniques
Reporter/Photographer – Bardstown, Kentucky
- The Kentucky Standard, an award-winning tri-weekly newspaper, is seeking a reporter/photographer to help it continue its quality news coverage
- The newspaper has a circulation of 9,650
- Write news, features, and columns, as assigned. Duties also include some spot sports coverage and sports photography
- Take photographs (news, features, business/community) as assigned and to accompany news stories
- Roughly 45 hours, with some evening and weekend work required
Digital Photographer
- Upper Deck
- Oversees all web-based, product photography for the company, including photographing master images of each product as well as individual registry photos for each piece within a product edition
- Digital Photography of trading cards, various collectibles and memorabilia products including master product shots and signature close-ups. Includes digital processing of raw image files to standardized file formats and presentation
- Assists with the packaging and shipping of products prior to and after athlete signings
- Ensures quality control throughout product verification, photography and storage process
- 5+ years experience related experience
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Camera Raw, Macintosh and Windows applications
- Knowledge of camera functions, lighting and workflow
