Setting Your Photography Goals for 2009
Photography is a big part of my life...and I’m sure it is for many of you as well. Now that we’re almost at the end of the first month of 2009, how are your photography goals coming? Have you set any yet? My goals as they relate to my personal photography are fairly modest…I want to create a book at the end of the year, capturing my family in all their glory through a wide range of events, and publish a photo book to hand out to family members. I know it may be a bit corny, but a friend showed one off at a recent gathering and it was awesome. In the new era of digital photography, we email photos and post online, but we don’t get prints made like we used to..the old family photo album is quickly disappearing. So, I decided to create a folder with 12 subfolders to part a handful of images each month towards this year end project. I have a plan and I’m 1/12 of the way there!
Your Photo Blog. I always admire the dedication photographers have in creating a daily photo blog. Just being able to stay motivated to login on a regular basis can become a chore, aside from the daily photography. However, photography is like any other endeavor you wish to become better at, practice, practice, practice…If not daily, make it a personal goal to set aside time on a weekly basis to exercise your camera shutter. You don’t even have to leave your house to do this! At the end of the week, make it part of your routine to update your photography blog…and you’ll feel better for it.
Your New Photography Business. I’ve seen many amateur photography sites and it is obvious there are tons of budding professional photographers waiting in the wings to jumpstart their new career or part-time business. What are you waiting for? There’s no time like the present to start putting the plan into motion. Photography jobs are all around you, but you have to be looking. The contest we are currentlly running offer free promotional material, which is a surefire way to get attention for your photo biz.
What are your photography goals for this year? Please share.

Photography Blog – Giovanni Drogo
about Giovanni Drogo…“I bought my first camera, a Canon AE1, back in 1983 at the age of 14 years, with the intent to shot the Motorcycle World Championship. This was for me the opportunity to encounter the world of photography.
Over time I have spent less and less attention to this passion and only recently I purchased a digital Relex. So I started to shoot with enthusiasm and now I’m exploring the new possibilities offered by digital photography.”
