A Life In the City – NYC Photography Blog

“Hello!  My name is Charley Quinlivan and I live in New York City.  I have just started a photo blog as a way for me to post what I like about New York.

I have been shooting for about two years now but the blog is only about a month old.  I usually shoot every day but I try and hold my posts to the best of the shots.  I am drawn to shoot people mainly…not so much in the classic “street photography” tradition although I am inspired by that genre.  I often look for the person alone in this busy place.

Sometimes I ask for a picture and I am always surprised by how many people agree to have their picture taken by a stranger on the street.  Sometimes I just shoot, it depends on my mood and the situation.  I enjoy looking through the ilovephotoblogs site, I have found a lot of inspiration from looking at what others are doing.

Thanks!”

New York City by Street Photographer Alberto Reyes

Amazing New York City Street Photography by photographer Alberto Reyes. Capturing NYC iconic scenes with his own unique perspective. Alberto’s wonderful control of composition and use of color are absolutely stunning!

“My name is Alberto Reyes I live in the Upper East Side in NYC. And I walk around the city twice a week for a whole day and capture the city and its people in special moments that really grab my attention. I walk with no direction for hours as a way to distract myself from work since this is what I love doing and I found a lot of happiness while I am doing this. I am not a professional photographer and I have never taken any class either. These images are my view of NYC.

NYC Photoblog by Drew Shannon

“My name is Drew Shannon, and I’m part-New Yorker, part-music geek, part-video game nerd, part-beginner-photographer, part-marketer, and part-lots-of-things. To help pay the bills, I work as an Associate Media Planner at Mindshare.”

“My background is that I took a beginner’s photography class a few years ago in high school, but after graduating, my camera just sat in the closet collecting dust. After moving to New York City about 2 years ago, I picked my camera back up again, and recently got my first DSLR. Since then, I’ve just been interested in taking as many photos as possible, and trying to learn as much along the way as I can.

I’m currently working on a 365 Project, posting a new photo on my blog every single day, and I’ve found that it’s a great way to keep me interested and motivated, all while honing my skills and helping me learn my way around my camera. I don’t have a personal style per se, but am hoping that by posting my photos online online for people to see, I’ll start learning what my strengths are. More than that, I’m just having a lot of fun with this re-discovered hobby of mine!”

Fashion photography by Per Zennström

“My name is Per Zennström and I’d like to promote my photography via my website..Per Zennström is drawn to the field of fashion photography, where he feels there is a constant hunger and need for innovation and search for new expressions. Pop-culture with all it’s facets plays an important role in his universe, be it film, design, the “business” itself, new digital media and techniques and so on… Thriving on the ephemeral and fleeting aspects of this sometimes fickle environment he tries to turn these “limitations” into opportunities.

“Edgy Elegant” is a look that Per Zennström is aspiring to which means a dose of classic fashion photography + a twist to give the edge. “If the girls look beautiful You can do almost anything after that”.

Per spent his assistant years in NYC, after that he went on to start his career in Paris where he lived and worked for 13 years. Currently based in Berlin, where he thrives on the unique, urban atmosphere…Per has recently launched a successful blog 10horses and is also the publisher of the on-line, pop-cultural magazine “11HORSES-“ and is also sought after as a vibrant and enthusiastic speaker / teacher.”

Citysnaps – San Francisco photo blog

Citysnaps is my photo blog. It’s about street photography; a very loose and informal documentary style about people in urban environments; capturing the energy and rhythm of the street.

I’m out shooting a lot. Usually solo, but many times shooting with friends as well.

I’ve met a lot of interesting people over the six or so years I’ve been snapping street pix. All are friendly and have a story to tell. Occasionally, I’ll focus on an individual and share some details of their activities and life. And from time to time share stories of some of my encounters on the street.

Most of my street pix are taken in San Francisco, a great city to shoot in. Outside of NYC, there’s no better place for street pix.
