Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2012

food photographer of the year Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2012 picturesPink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year is inspired by the proliferation of wonderful food photography in a huge variety of applications. From eye-catching advertising hoardings, to sumptuous editorial features, from tempting food packaging to daily blogs. The Awards celebrate this magnificent diversity in what is truly, the stuff of life.

The Awards seek to single out not only technical skill, but originality of treatment and a real sense of connection with the subject matter whatever it may be. Whether simply an apple on a plate, a cake of spun sugar, a baker covered in flour at four in the morning, or a pot simmering on an open fire in the African bush.

“We are looking for professional and amateur alike, in our search for the very best depictions of this marvellously varied subject of food, which unites us all.”

Social Documentary by UK based photographer Lee Welton

“I’m a photographer based in the UK that likes to do social documentary. Much of the work on my blog is street photography with a dashes of public events and some commercial work. Although I have only had a camera for a year and a half my pictures have made it on the Guardian website and newspaper (I’m particularly proud of my riot pictures) and have won a couple of competitions.”

Lee Welton is a photographer based in London and Southend, Essex specialising in commercial, events, press, documentary and street photography.

Hammer Without a Master – Photography Blog by Rhys Baker

We’re glad to again showcase photographer Rhys Baker, whom we’ve featured in 10 Great Photoblogs to Jumpstart Your Creativity.

“Photography is an Art practice, I use all sorts of techniques. It is hybrid. No purity. No technological optimism and no desire to cling to the past either.

Photography shouldn’t really be about photography, it’s more to do with the stuff around you – beauty, ugliness, joy, melancholy, the weird and the familiar.”

The Most Peaceful Images In The World – Jennifer Squires

peaceful landscapes The Most Peaceful Images In The World Jennifer Squires pictures

Jennifer Squires creates minimalist landscape photographs, the most peaceful images in the world. Jennifer specializes in soothing seascape and winter tree photographs.

“I’m Jennifer Squires Ross and together with my husband Darren Ross we run a small photography business out of our home in London, Ontario, Canada. I specialize in picture taking and picture making and Darren is fondly known as the CFO (chief fax operator). He takes care of administrative tasks, plus he makes a mean hot chocolate; earning himself extra brownie points at 5am when I’m off to a location shoot.

I’ve been photographing professionally since 1996, but I’ve been taking pictures my whole life.  I hold two Diplomas in Photography from Fanshawe College, London, Ontario, and I was later asked back to teach.  After college I began work as a Producer and First Assistant at a corporate and advertising studio in Toronto, Ontario.  In 2005 I moved back to London to pursue freelance work, and opened my online shop in February 2008.

Photo Life Magazine listed me as one of 2009′s Emerging Photographers.”
