Dennis Witmer has been making photographs for more than 30 years, mostly using large format view cameras and black and white film.  His work can be seen on his website, or purchased in book form from Amazon.com or lulu.com.

As an older photographer, Dennis Witmer seems to more interested in photographers from the 1970s and before–before the great Sherman march to the museum–and finds damn little of interest in most other blogs by younger photographers.    He links to whatever he can, though much of the content of interest is actually not on line, but usually in books, of which he is a collector.

Landscape Photography – Martin Lawrence

After many years as a keen amateur photographer, I decided to start a small landscape photography business called Lakescenes which I ran alongside my main job as an IT Manager. As business increased, I found myself working long, but rewarding, hours just to keep up with the demand. It quickly became apparent that I was enjoying my part time job much more than my full time one and I decided that this was where my future lay.

I decided to leave my job in IT and become a full time professional photographer. I hold regular exhibitions at the Moot Hall in Keswick and exhibit at several galleries in and around the Lake District area where I have been top selling artist in Thornthwaite Gallery for the past three years. I also exhibit in Lancashire. I supply images for calendars, websites and brochures and contribute to stock libraries. I have also now started to write photographic tutorials for magazines.

I now have a number of customers who collect my work both framed and on canvas. My love of fell-walking has allowed me to access and capture images of many of the places that visitors to the Lake District hold close to their hearts. ‘Memories on the wall’ is how I like to describe it.

In March 2008, I re-branded as Martin Lawrence Photography and commissioned a new website to enhance my on-line presence. This has successfully led to a big increase in internet sales….read more about Martin Lawrence Photography

Brooklyn based photographer Dalton Rooney

I am a photographer from Brooklyn, New York. I am currently working on a long-term project on the landscape of Long Island called Outer Lands.

My weblog about landscape photography is called Third Nature. The term “third nature” refers to the intersection of art and the natural world. I also maintain a Tumblr called Photo Reads that links frequently to interesting articles about photography and art.

I am also a web developer and have created a WordPress template for artists and photographers called Portfolio. I am available on a freelance basis for consultation and technical support.
