“…Aldo discovered photography and decided to make it his cathartic mean of expressing his own identity. He learned technical knowledge from Antoine Erriquez, artist photographer and former war photographer, who also taught him the intricacies of street photography. A deep complicity was born between both two artists. Thanks to this understanding, Antoine took care of the hand-made printing of Aldo’s black and white photographies.

Thus it is through photography that Aldo will start looking for for landscapes, people and especially light that will help him find (again) his identity. His first trip to Japan in 2002 turned into a revelation…”

Photographer in Japan

My daily photoblog attracts more than 25,000 visitors a month and contains a good cross-section of my recent and current work.

“I am a British, married to a Japanese lady and we have two children and now live permanently in Japan. I started taking pictures aged seven and had my first photos published in 1991. From 1991 until 2001 I worked in the music business in the UK, as Press Director for Nimbus Records and then as General Manager for Black Box Music in London. During that time my music photography was published in magazines and newspapers across the world. I also photographed Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD Festivals for some years and in 2002 was chief photographer and photo editor for the official website of Glastonbury Festival.”
