NEW FACEBOOK WELCOME PAGE TEMPLATES FROM MOREPHOTOS GIVE VISITORS facebook templates New Facebook Welcome Page Templates from MorePhotos picturesA REASON TO “LIKE” YOU A provider of CMS (content management system) driven websites and shopping carts for professional photographers for over 11 years, MorePhotos is getting into the social media game.

“We’ve really noticed an uptick in the number of our clients who are inquiring about Facebook, how to use it effectively, and tricks to get more “likes”, says Drew Warner, SEO specialist with MorePhotos.  In response, our design team has come up with 4 unique templates that can be plugged in as a Welcome Page on your business Facebook profile.  A Welcome Page is a landing page that first time visitors to a Facebook Business profile see as introduction to your brand.  It’s a way to tell them what to expect from you if they subscribe and allow updates from your brand onto their wall.  We’ve noticed an 80% increase in weekly likes since combining a small amount of Facebook advertising with a Welcome Page for our own brand.”

The templates are innovative because as a company, all you have to do is select the template you like most, upload your logo, list your tagline and upload the photos you want to appear on your customized Facebook Welcome page.  The information is transmitted electronically to the MorePhotos design team and they get right to work on the project.

Google Hits Homerun with Google Friend Connect

Google announced today the preview release of Google Friend Connect, a service to allow website publishers to boost traffic by allowing any site on the web to easily provide social features for it visitors. This is a sure-fire hit for web publishers of all sizes. The Google Friend Connect platform could not have come at a better time. Just as I was about to finalize a forum here at ILovePhotobogs.com, Google puts out this announcement.

The great thing about Friend Connect is it’s ability to allow website owners to social network members to communicate in using this platform, regardless of the specific social network to which they belong. Sort of a standards type of social networking platform. Here’s how Google describes Friend Connect…

…any website owner can add a snippet of code to his or her site and get social features up and running immediately without programming — picking and choosing from built-in functionality like user registration, invitations, members gallery, message posting, and reviews, as well as third-party applications built by the OpenSocial developer community.

Visitors to any site using Google Friend Connect will be able to see, invite, and interact with new friends, or, using secure authorization APIs, with existing friends from social sites on the web, including Facebook, Google Talk, hi5, orkut, Plaxo, and more.
