My name is Martin Andreasen, and I live in small city by the name of Koege, which lays on the eastcoast of Denmark, Scandinavia. I currently live in the northern part of the city with my cat Polly.
My everyday job has nothing to do with photography, so I am a regular photography enthusiast, who shoots for the sheer joy of it.

I post one or more photos every day from places I went, people I met, situations I encountered etc. I have decided to do this as a challenge to myself, and also to evolve as a photographer, since I have to make at least one decent photo a day.

My camera is a Canon EOS-1D, which is Canon’s old flagship model. The camera was announced in 2001 and packs a 4.1Mp CCD-sensor. Although the sensor’s pixel-count is somewhere the half of what a ‘modern’ compact packs, don’t be fooled. It really packs a punch:). I bought mine used in the end of 2005, and began using on this Blog the day after i got it.

My primary lens is the Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, which is one of the cheapest lenses in the Canon ‘L’(Luxury) series, made for proffesionals. The lens is very sharp and packs a lot of natural contrast, which is perfect for my use.
I also use the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM, which is a very useful in lowlight conditions because of the large aperture. It’s also very handy when creating images with very little depth of field.

Before you run out and spend all your money on expensive photography-equipment, you have to remember, that it’s not the camera or software that makes the photo, but the person who tells it what to do and what to shoot! So learn the basics of aperture, shutter-time, ISO, focal-lengths, composition. Read alot of magazines, books and everything you can get your hands on involving photography…What The Heck by Martin Andreasen
