Boston.com is an online daily featuring local, national, and international news, and yes, great photography. Blog photographers will love this site for it’s awesome feature photojournalism.
During the recent disastrous trek of Hurricane Ike, Boston.com had photographers on the ground to document the death and destruction of a storm which left thousands homeless and without electricity or running water.
In its brief lifespan of only 13 days, Hurricane Ike wreaked great deal of havoc. Affecting several countries including Cuba, Haiti, and the United States, Ike is blamed for approximately 114 deaths (74 in Haiti alone), and damages that are still being tallied, with estimates topping $10 billion. Many shoreline communities of Galveston, Texas were wiped from the map by the winds, storm surge and the walls of debris pushed along by Ike – though Galveston was spared the level of disaster it suffered in 1900.

oh rick you know that the picture give me a thought that better dont buy expensive electronic at home. As flood will make everything spoiled you need to buy again. Use the money for holiday or travel its even better.
What I found most interesting in listening to the people affected by the storm, was how many mentioned losing family photos as a main concern. I have always heard that you should store your photos close to an exit, for quick retrieval.

I miss the south but not the weather.
the weather is sometimes good and sometimes bad. That’s why people fall sicked.
Amazing that there are people that risk their lives to get these photos! What about pics of tornados?
