NYC Street Portraiture – The Photodiarist

“I am a diarist of ordinary moments that move me. I gravitate towards black and white photography but still celebrate color. I love the candid capture but respect the power of the choreographed moment. I study the rules of phos+graphis but am compelled periodically to ignore them.”

“I really love taking pictures. But more than that, I love giving a more permanent life to fleeting ordinary moments that I witness in New York, the city in which I live, and in my travels. Lately, I’ve been doing portraits of people that I don’t know in an effort to show that it takes only a few moments of connecting with another person to create one less stranger in a city that is full of them.”
