Midweek Talent Show

Wednesdays have always been a good catch up day for me. I like to address the bulk of my emails before hitting the downhill slope towards the weekend…just an old habit of mine. With that said, the photo blogs have been flying in this week! …You know I love it…so keep ‘em coming!

[Just a note - If you have submitted a photo blog in the past and have not been published, I may have overlooked you so please resubmit. However, if you only have 2 or 3 entries on your newly minted blog, please understand I'm trying to entertain here...You might want to let your site mature just a bit more before submitting.]

Possible language barrier here since there is virtually no text, however the photography speaks for itself. Not a tremendous volume of work, but  the images are excellent.

Lauren Fitzgerald Photography

“Lauren Fitzgerald is a natural light and studio portrait photographer specializing in children’s portraiture. An award-winning author and seasoned photographer, Lauren’s duel interests in writing and photography led her to earn a Journalism degree from the prestigious Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, where she graduated Magna cum Laude with honors. Her natural style and earthy aesthetic has made her a popular choice among children’s photographers in the Washington-Baltimore area. Her photographs are rich with texture and depth, incorporating every inch of the10-acre property and studio in which she works.”

“We have both had a passion for creating images since we can remember and 4 years ago decided to turn our love of photography into a business. While we started our business in our home state of Missouri and saw our business grow (we photographed over 30 weddings last year) we longed for sunny skies and sandy beaches. In January we moved our business to Jacksonville, FL and have been loving the Florida lifestyle!”

The One-Eyed Man v2.0 – John Simpson

“I would like to think that I’m a complex man trying to live a simple life, but really i’m just a guy with one good eye and a very personal view of the world around me. Don’t spend a lot of time looking for deep and meaningful messages in my photos, the ones that are there tend to be blatant.

I shoot things that make me smile, that catch my attention, things that jump out at me. If anything I would describe my work as minimal and possibly reductive but that would suggest thinking about process (which I don’t at the time it just happens).”
