Do You Twitter?

Do You Twitter? picturesDo youTwitter? Even though I specialize in photoblogs and photography related topics, the search for a better way to drive traffic to my photo site never escapes me. Enter Twitter.

Many of you are probably asking the same question I had not long ago…What is Twitter?
Per the explanation on the Twitter site…” Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? Bloggers can use it as a mini-blogging tool.

Well, I just signed up for my first Twitter account tonight and it’s just too early to tell whether or not I’ll be a dedicated user of the service. I became persuaded to join after reading a post by Problogger Darren Rowse, so I figured it was worth a try.

My main goal in using Twitter is to be able to bounce story ideas off of other Twitter-ers. I’ll have to see how effective a slo-mo version of IM will be for me. Five minutes after signing up, I had three followers. Great…each one porn related. After deleting each of these followers, since this was not the type of photography I had in mind, I decided to jump out and solicit other photographers..Seemed logical..Go after you target audience..So I selected 6 photographers to “follow”…The first member, Twitter, or whatever we’re called, I decided to follow was talking about her BFF turning 18…Ugh….so much for first impressions..

  1. Me too, I don’t twit that much. I’m still a newbie at that site.

  2. the problem for me is my content is so useless if I only use it once a month…guess the point is to use it more frequently…what does “getting lunch” or “hate Fridays” really mean over time?

  3. the last time I update twitter was watching amazing race 3
