My 1000th Post

Wow! It’s hard to believe we’ve reached our 1000th post milestone….seems like a lot of posts, but I feel we’ve only just begun to scratch the surface on showcasing great photography blogs. A special thank you goes out to all that have linked to us, taken the time to leave comments, and of course, continue to submit all those wonderful photo blogs!

A lot has changed since our first post, but our philosophy has remained the same…to give photographers a forum to showcase their wonderful talents. I hope you enjoy following our site as much as I love producing and sharing our content on a daily basis.

Here’s to another 1000 posts and as always, if you have any photography projects you’d like to share with our viewing audience, feel free to contact me!

Spring cleaning in full swing

Loyal reader of our photography blog may have noticed something different today. Yes, we  rolled out a new design yesterday evening, opting for the newly released Atahualpa 3.4.9 WordPress theme. While our old design, Amazing Grace, worked well, I really wanted to go with a cleaner layout. The Atahualpa ( say that 3 times fast), has a tremendous amount of detailed control for those into tweaking your WordPress themes.

I hope your enjoy our new look! Feel free to comment. In case you’re wondering, the photos in the header are from yours truly. It’s nice to be able to display my work on occasion. I will be changing these images from time to time, to contribute my photographic two cents worth.

**UPDATE**As many viewers can attest, my rapid switch to a new template was a bit premature. Since I have not mastered the nuances of fluid web design and ensuring proper display for a variety of resolutions,  I have decided to roll back to the Amazing Grace template. I apologize for jumping the gun before thoroughly testing out the template. Lessons learned. A special thank you goes out to all visitors which wrote in to let me know about the issues they were having viewing our site.

Attention Wedding Photographers

ILWP logo copy 300x114 Attention Wedding Photographers picturesDue to the large amount of wedding photography blogs we receive on a daily basis, the decision has been made to create a new site dedicated to..you guessed it…Wedding Photography. We’ve launched I Love Wedding Photography a few hours ago and we’re working hard to publish all the wedding photography blogs submitted the past few days.

Over the course of the next couple of weeks, you will see multiple daily posts on this site…however, once we’re caught up you should anticipate around 1-2 posts daily. If you sign up for the new feed, I hope you’re not too inconvenienced by the quantity of posts. Trust me..it will slow down.

For the wedding photographers out there, this site will grow rather quickly as we push to make this a valuable resource for photographers looking to get additional exposure as well as readers looking for your services. To accommodate the advertising requests we’ve received for this site ( and turned them down), we will be offering advertising opportunities at the new site. The rates are crazy low at this point. So, if you are interested on even more promotional punch, you may want to consider this avenue.

While we’ll continue to feature wedding photographers on this site, the majority of them will now be featured at I Love Wedding Photography. This site has its own submit your wedding photography site feature, so be sure to submit your site to the correct blog.

Will anything change at I Love Photo Blogs? Not at all…it’s business as usual. To all our loyal readers, thank you for your support and the kind words you forward to me.

I look forward in the challenge of running an additional site and hope you will add our new offering to your web travels.

Getting Organized 101

Nickel rimmed magnifing glass 150x150 Getting Organized 101 picturesAfter numerous attempts at “getting organized” with all the tremendous photography you submit on a daily basis, I think I’ve come up with a solution! For the past year, one of the nagging issues I’ve had with ILovePhotoblogs was how best to showcase the photography sites and blogs to our new visitors each day. While I appreciate all my loyal readers, the truth is that new/first time visitors account for 85% of all our daily traffic!

Our solution…the ILovePhotoblogs Custom Search powered by Google. The search tool has been tuned to only search for posts from our site and photography blogs we’ve mentioned. I’ve been playing around with the WordPress template and the Google code and know you will love using this search feature. For your convenience, I’ve added the “Search” to the top menu. So, please, give our new search tool a try and let me know what you think.

Happy New Year – Looking back and moving on

091231 timesquare 529p.rp350x350 150x150 Happy New Year Looking back and moving on picturesHappy New Year to everyone….and welcome 2010! Before I officially close the door on 2009, I wanted to take a moment to thank all the readers which continue to support our site!

We experienced a 281% increase in traffic for 2009 versus 2008, page views tripled, and our bounce rate for the last quarter was 2.33%!

Since focusing on consistent daily postings back in October, our email subscriptions have doubled. User submitted photoblogs continue to be the largest resource for our daily postings, so keep them coming…received over 2500 photoblog suggestions during 2009.

This year we are seeking a way to better display all the photoblogs which have been featured here. How do you organize over 2000 photoblogs? Lists? Tag clouds?..If you have any suggestion, I would love to hear them…

Keep shooting and sharing your photoblogs with us!
