About City Daily Photo Blog

The Daily Photo collection of blogs began in March of 2005 when a man in love with his city wanted to share it with the rest of the world. The Paris – One Photo A Day blog was thus launched by Eric Tenin, an amateur photographer, and soon became an unexpected phenomenon.

Rapidly, this hobby began attracting thousands of readers from the world over who had either been to Paris and wanted to re-live their experience, others who have never been and dream of visiting, and those who are planning a trip and surf the site for interesting things to see.

Shortly after the quick success, the blog name was changed to “Paris Daily Photo” (easier to remember!) and became so popular, that suddenly others started writing to Eric asking how they could start a similar blog for their own city. Very quickly, cities such as London and New York followed forming the initial group of city daily photo bloggers…read more about City Daily Photo

The Creative Works of New York City Photographer Steffen Knudsen Allen

Steffen Knudsen Allen developed an interest in photography at a young age and was soon put in charge of the family camera. Much later his photographic education spanned two continents and three schools (including a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design). Steffen currently holds down a job just outside New York City as head photographer in a design studio with multiple international clients, and does anything on the side that he can get his paws into. His images can be seen in over a million homes around the world– on the sides of Macalren baby stroller packing boxes.

A Single Drop Of Water – Photography Competition

single drop of water photography contest A Single Drop Of Water Photography Competition pictures

“We primarily work with at risk and under-served youth, and are currently in the process of creating an arts based environmental awareness and education program that will use photography to celebrate, and document the journey of water.

The project is called, A Single Drop of Water.    www.asingledropofwater.org

Our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of this precious resource and its scarcity in many communities.

We have launched an international photography contest, the purpose being two fold. Firstly, we will be using the contest to gather images for the curriculum, and secondly, the revenue generated from the entry fees will be used to help offset the costs of our programming.

We will be giving away prize money ($1,500 for the Grand Prize, $500 for category winners) and Calumet has generously offered to donate a few cameras for the winners of our “Under 25″ and “Peoples’ Choice” categories.  Winning entries will also be exhibited in New York City in the Spring of 2011, to coincide with World Water Day (March 22.)

We are looking for people to help us spread the word, and I was hoping, as the administrator of a popular online photography blog, that you might be will to help us out by posting competition details (included below) to your forum.”

Respectfully Yours,

Liza Politi
