The reality of digital photography is you spend more time at your computer desk than in the field creating your photographic masterpieces. Since I spend the majority of my waking moments writing about photographers, like yourself, my jeans are firmly planted in my office chair way more than I’d like to admit. I was recently in the market for a replacement chair since the seat cushions expired long ago, and thought I’d share some of the best selling office chairs I reviewed before making my purchase.

There are several reasons that underscore the importance of getting a good computer chair. For starters, it’s comfort. The longer you sit at your desk, the more comfort comes into play. I fidget quite a bit while writing. Using a quality chair with sufficient padding makes logging in long hours in front of your PC much more enjoyable and allows you to stayed focus on your work. Next, it’s the ergonomics thing. Selecting a chair that allows you to properly adjust to the necessary height is important for good posture and pain free work. Although I have a habit of sitting with one leg folded under me, I still like a chair with plenty of adjustments.

You can find a quality choice in almost any price range. For my office chair purchase I stayed within my budget and found a nice choice for under $100. Yes, I could have spent much more, but I was after functional, affordable comfort. Maybe later on, I’ll be able to purchase a designer brand with real leather..maybe. Hope you enjoy the list.
