“Hi, I’m Mikka. In 2007, I quit my job in New York and began traveling abroad; I lived in Vietnam for a little over a year, and am currently based in Japan, where I teach English and, as ever, travel as much as I can and take too many photographs. I made this site as part of my New Year’s resolution, which was – as it always is – to improve at taking photographs, and also to try and do something with the images that have been piling up on my hard drive since I first left the States.”

“I have a B.A. in English and Ancient Greek, and an M.A. in English and American Literature; though I’m mostly self taught at photography, I’ve been lucky enough to take photography classes at the Maine Photographic Workshops, the International Center for Photography and Photo Manhattan.”
