“Quinn Ryan Mattingly is an editorial and documentary photographer currently based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Quinn is the staff photographer for The Word, an English language magazine in HCMC, as well as shooting for numerous international clients. His passion for travel, photography and people has led him to some of the most fascinating places on the planet and encounters with people so alike, and yet so different at the same time. Quinn enjoys learning of and telling the stories of the voiceless, less fortunate inhabitants of these lands.”
Shawn Duffy is a freelance photographer based in the Washington, DC Metro area. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, he is a self-taught photographer who has decided to merge his passion for photography with his intense interest in the world around him. From the bustling streets of Bangalore, India, to the refugee camps of occupied Palestine, Shawn strives to create images and tell stories that compel others to act.
Shawn’s primary focus is the Middle East, having actively studied the region for most of his life. However, he is actively pursuing projects and opportunities all over the world.
Shawn has worked for, and partnered with, a wide variety of organizations including Amnesty International, AMERA, and the Christian Peacemaker Teams.
Citysnaps is my photo blog. It’s about street photography; a very loose and informal documentary style about people in urban environments; capturing the energy and rhythm of the street.
I’m out shooting a lot. Usually solo, but many times shooting with friends as well.
I’ve met a lot of interesting people over the six or so years I’ve been snapping street pix. All are friendly and have a story to tell. Occasionally, I’ll focus on an individual and share some details of their activities and life. And from time to time share stories of some of my encounters on the street.
Most of my street pix are taken in San Francisco, a great city to shoot in. Outside of NYC, there’s no better place for street pix.
