Fine Art Photography by Ian Sanderson

I first featured the photography of Ian Sanderson, Classical Beauty, about a year and a half ago. Since that time, Ian has continued to add to his already stunning portfolio, redesigned his website, and definitely warrants a second look!

“I am a U.K. photographer based in the south of France. My website contains work completed over the last 15 years with a few exceptions.

I have recently started to use the Gum Bichromate process. Having a Fine Art background in drawing and printmaking I find it satisfying to work in a direct way with pigments and paper, especially after a decade or more in front of a screen. The prints are quite large, 80cm, so it is quite a challenge.

There is a link to my professional work in the INFO tab if anyone is interested how I make a living!”

The iPhone Street Photography of Greg Schmigel

Why the iPhone?

I believe that about 90% of photography is about what the photographer sees. The choice of camera makes up for the rest. My iPhone just happens to be the camera that’s always with me.

My photographs take a quick candid look at everyday moments in life and the people that I encounter within them. I find beauty in the simpler aspects of these moments; the face of a stranger, the gate of a man, the shadows or reflections of a woman or even the simple smile on the face of a child.

I don’t set out to produce art, per se. For me, street photography is more of a personal therapy. I am most happy when capturing these slices of life.

Photography for me was not intentional — yet now, it seems essential.

100% of the images featured on Just What I See were created using Apple’s 2G, 2mp or 3Gs, 3mp camera system.

Spontaneous photography that focuses on using minimal digital alteration, working with natural light and reflections….

“My portfolio highlights versatility and my genuine interest in capturing unexpected and unique moments using minimal digital alterations. I especially enjoy working with natural light and reflections, as well as people at their most natural. I also try to capture the essence of the places I travel to, whether it is the landscape, nature, or the people.”
