We’re changing the delivery of our email newsletter from Feedburner over to Aweber. We use this service to deliver our daily postings to your inbox via email. A few months ago we started to make the transition and backed out, but now we’re in full gear conversion mode. Over the course of the next couple of days you may receive an email from us to confirm (reconfirm) your subscription. If you do receive this email, please confirm to continue receiving our daily content via email.
What will change?
For our subscribers, you will see a slight formatting change in our daily postings newsletter. We will offer a few more resources on this offering, besides just a plain feed.
From a publisher’s viewpoint, switching to Aweber will tremendously increase our ability to provide superior content to viewers deciding to subscribe to our newsletter. Currently, we only have the means to include daily posts in our newsletters. One of the main reasons for deciding to undertake this switch, was that it will give us the ability offer additional resources directly to our loyal subscribers.
How will this transition impact me?
Best case scenario – All email addresses are approved for import into Aweber and the transition is seamless.
Worse case scenario – We will have to start from scratch in rebuilding our email subscription list and loyal subscribers will need to confirm their subscriptions once again.
One of the biggest hurdles in switching from Feedburner over to an autoresponder service provider, like Aweber, is moving your list of subscribers. Aweber has a strict policy on how email addresses are acquired and used. Double opt-in is mandatory. Luckily, we may be approved to simply import our list into Aweber, since all current subscribers have already double opted-in. Our fingers are crossed.
When will this transition take place?
This transition is currently underway, but we are still waiting for approval of our entire email subscriber list request. As we work through this process, we will look for duplicate mailings and hopefully prevent you from receiving multiple daily mailings.
We will maintain both systems in parallel until May 30th to ensure we retain as many of our current subscribers as possible. After May 30, we will discontinue using Feedburner to deliver our daily postings via email.
If you have any additional concerns, feel free to contact us.
