Holland Photography | Fotofill

“My name is Phill Holland and I like to engage in photography in my spare time, around my full-time occupation as an I.T. freelancer.

I started Photography when I was in school, with a simple film camera, combined with experiments in the dark room.  I recent re-discovered photography again a few years ago, when my passion was reignited by another.

After a trip around Europe last year for a month in my tiny car, I improved my skills greatly and hope to go on another trip later this year.

I work primarily within the digital medium (Nikon D90), but also like to play with medium format camera, such as the Lubitel 2.  I also like to carry an Olympus Pen-S camera around with me for more random moments.

I tend to be curious about most things, which serves me well when taking a photograph, exploring many different angles before clicking the button.  I try to take an unusual and slightly different perspective on a subject, sometimes turning it into something a little more abstract.  I sometimes like to play with the people who view my photos, and try and make them stand back and think for a second about what it is they are looking at.

My aims are to keep exploring the medium, and develop my unique perspective on things possibly becoming more abstract in the process. I also want to take more pictures of people, I plan to do some more lurking in Oxford Street at some point this year too.

I’ve only just started really, learning new things everyday!”
