This blog was basically set up to capture the reminiscences, experiences and opinions of an old man nearing the expiry of his use by date. It is also a way of telling my children about my life before parenthood; a kind of “blography”, I suppose. If it turns out to be an interesting read: great! The intention is to amuse…both you, me and my family. I also hope it might have the added purpose of occasionally provoking some thoughtful discussion and comment and maybe providing some small insight into the photographer’s life…or at least, this photographer’s life…”

List of 10 great black and white photography labs. Black & white photography has always been one of the most inspiring aspects of photography for me. The monochromatic image reduces photography to its basic nature of light and shadows. Perhaps this is why most print collectors favor black and white images over color. The art of black & white photography creates timeless images. While the number of photographers shooting film have dropped in recent years, there is still a demand for quality black and white film processing and print making.

For the photographers still “keeping the faith” and perhaps looking to outsource film development and printing, I have put together a list of black and white photography labs for your review.

The City Daily Photo project quickly transformed from a one man project to photographically document his city on a daily basis, into a world wide movement involving hundreds of photographers. [At the time of this writing, City Daily Photo appears to be experiencing server issues]
