Greetings to Houston, Texas and welcome to the 15th installment of “20 Awesome Photography Blogs”, where we highlight some of the best photo blogs and photographers from around the world. Since our first “Awesome Photoblog” installment, the interest level and support has continued to soar with each new posting. I can’t begin to thank everyone enough for promoting our project by linking to each installment and helping to spread the word!

Just to give a little background about this project..There are a ton of great photoblogs, but weeding through them can be a chore. My main problem with searching for quality photography sites is not the actual quality of the images themselves, since this is a subjective thing and I leave that to you, the viewer. My main issue has been dealing with all the photoblogs which have either been abandoned (photographer moved site, died, or just stopped posting), or no information was given about the photographer.

Frequent visitors of this site can attest to my rants about anonymous photography publishers. Sometimes, the photographer just wants to be unnamed, which I can respect, and other times, they simply fail to complete the canned template they are using. In either case, viewers like to know a little about the artist. It’s all about marketing, building interest, and giving viewers a bit more information about the art/artist. I’m not asking for Social Security numbers here, but background details do add a little flavor to the soup if photographers could share some geographic info and details about what motivates them, photography equipment used or anything else which they feel may be of interest to others.

In a nutshell, this project was created as an advanced filter to discover photographers which are active and share a little information about themselves (specially, location) and their art.

From our last stop in Ireland, we explore the wonderful photography of Houston. Thanks again for the global support of our project!

Wow, I was floored to get your comment that you had included my photoblog in this post. I’ve been doing this for just over a year now, and have always looked at it as something for my own pleasure. Thanks for including me in this post; I hope that other folks enjoy my photos as much as I have enjoyed taking them.

    Thanks again,
    Eric

Holy cow! Just to be mentioned amongst these other websites is fantastic. There are many more photographers in Houston that I look up to (laanba, Mockbird, Mathteacher, OneEighteen, HerbinHouston, Groovehouse, Photomajic, Dramamath, Slight Clutter, Chuckwheat, and j-a-x – all on flickr). Thank you for mentioning photofriendly.
