Most photographers are sitting on a stockpile of images. The question is often asked about how to make money with your photos, without opening a studio.
I have to come across an excellent article over at Photopreneur which will provide just the information you’re looking for! While the article I’ve linked to only contains 52 ways, there are plenty of helpful hints on this site to get you started cashing in on your pictures.
Some of my favorite tips from this article include:
1. Give business people Moo cards.
“Turn your photos into mini-Moo cards and market them as unique intros for
business people who think they’re unique.”
I couldn’t agree more. Moo cards are very cool, people love them, and I’m always proud to hand them out. They’re definitely unique, affordable, and eye-catching; just what you need in a promotional piece.

5. Create a specialized photography book
“It’s nice to put your favorite images in a photography book; it’s nice money
when you put your kid’s school soccer team in a book and sell it to their
parents.”
This is a great way to get exposure. You’d be surprised how many hands these personalized books will touch. There are many companies which produce books, i.e., vanity press type operations, which can allow you to order books one at a time. Two great companies that come to mind include, Lulu and Cafepress.

16. Earn every day with calendars
“Calendars are simple to make but tough to get into stores. So sell them online.”
With the holiday season quickly approaching, this is a great item you can sell directly from your blog or website. These companies, Lulu and Cafepress, also do calendars.

46. Sell to eBay auctioneers
“Many of the items sold on eBay appear time and time again, often with poor
images. So shoot commonly sold products and sell the pictures to sellers.”
I have personally sold images on eBay, and yes, there is a tremendous community of buyers looking for your artwork, regardless of niche. As long as photos are nicely presented and you ship promptly, this is a great revenue stream. If you are interested, but would like to know more on this subject, I would recommend picking up Taking Great Pictures for eBay Auctions and Online Selling.
